Social "Networking" or Privacy Invasion?
A recent article published in The Wall Street Journal claimed that Facebook and other social-networking sites have been releasing personal data to Google, Yahoo and advertising agencies, despite promises to the contrary to users. According to the Journal the practice "sends user names or ID numbers tied to personal profiles being viewed when users click on ads." Many professional organizations, including event planners have found social networking a viable means for promoting events. But is it worth the risk to your privacy? Skyline recommends that you read the full article then move to set privacy settings at a comfortable level. You should also let the social networking sites know your opinion on internet privacy. Hometown Heroes Food Drive Festival
Skyline is delighted to be producing a three-day Canned Food Festival for Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs this coming holiday weekend. In partnership with Care and Share Food Bank, the mall is encouraging shoppers to donate canned food May 29-31. Shoppers that participate in the food drive will receive valuable coupons. But that's not all! Skyline is providing a giant sculpture of the American flag-created from canned food! It's on display in Center Court, and children and their families will also have the opportunity to play interactive games designed and created from canned goods and learn how to twist balloons, paint faces and make simple percussion instruments. "Colorado Springs is a very generous community and Chapel Hills Mall is thrilled to invite everyone to come and support an important agency like Care and Share," said David Moss, General Manager. "While helping others, the whole family can have some fun with can-themed games and workshops throughout the mall."
